In real life he’s an adventurer at heart and his previous careers as an engineer in the Royal Navy, a teacher of secondary school science and a Paramedic adds reality to his stories.

When he’s not cruising the Mediterranean with his wife on a 36-foot yacht he lives in England and has two grown-up children and a mischievous grandson.
